At 6075 Roswell Road, Suite 100, the dining room that held Baraonda for 25 years has a new tenant. A Columbia, South Carolina restaurant group has signed a ten-year lease there for an upscale Korean restaurant with seating for 100, a 15-seat bar and a 36-seat patio. Farther north on the same road, at River Springs Shopping Center, the city will run the last 2026 date of a market it created this year to bring its Saturday morning tradition to a weeknight on the north end.
Both of these sit on Roswell Road, and both point to evenings. Between now and the Sparkle parade on December 6, more and more of what is happening in Sandy Springs is scheduled after dark, along that one road and the City Springs blocks just off it.
For most of the year, Sandy Springs' market has been a Saturday morning event at City Springs. In August the city announced the Sandy Springs Night Market. The city describes it as an extension of "the beloved Saturday morning outdoor market into a vibrant after-work shopping experience on the north end of the city." It has run on the first Thursday of September and October, and its final 2026 date is Thursday, November 5, from 5 to 8 p.m. at River Springs Shopping Center, 8610 Roswell Road.
The city's announcement promises more than 30 local farmers, food producers, artisans and specialty vendors. It pitches the evening as a chance to pick up a prepared dinner or "the perfect last-minute hostess gift." With Thanksgiving three weeks after that date, the hostess-gift line reads like a planning note.
The Saturday version is also winding down. The City Springs Farmers Market lists four remaining 2026 dates, all from 8:30 a.m. to noon:
The market's page shows November 21 as the last upcoming date. It doesn't say outright that this ends the season. Anyone planning a Thanksgiving produce run should aim for that weekend rather than the following one.
The overlap comes in mid-November. Skate City Springs opens on City Green on Friday, November 13 and runs through January 18. Admission includes skate rental, and the venue recommends booking online. So for the market's last two Saturdays, November 14 and 21, a morning of produce shopping can turn into an afternoon on the ice without leaving the City Springs District.
That handoff sets the tone for the following six weeks. Programming at City Springs moves from daylight hours outdoors to evenings, either on the rink or across the plaza at the Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center. The November and early December calendar there is dense enough to plan around:
| Date | Event | Venue |
|---|---|---|
| Wed., Nov. 11, 11:30 a.m. | Veterans Day Tribute, free | Byers Theatre |
| Thu., Nov. 12 | Atlanta's Funniest Priests, sold out with a box office wait list | Performing Arts Center |
| Fri., Nov. 13 | Skate City Springs opens | City Green |
| Mon., Nov. 16 | Whose Live Anyway? | Performing Arts Center |
| Sat., Nov. 21 | A Magical Cirque Christmas | Performing Arts Center |
| Sun., Nov. 22 | Broadway's Rock of Ages Band | Performing Arts Center |
| Nov. 27 to Dec. 6 | Roswell Dance Theatre's The Nutcracker | Performing Arts Center |
| Sun., Dec. 6 | Sparkle Sandy Springs | City Springs District |
Two items in that table are useful to know ahead of time. Atlanta's Funniest Priests is a return engagement with six Atlanta priests doing original stand-up, and it has already sold out. The City Springs events page points latecomers to the box office wait list. The Nutcracker run starts the day after Thanksgiving and closes on December 6, the same day as Sparkle. Families planning both should expect that Sunday to be busy around City Springs.
A night out near City Springs usually ends with dinner, and the restaurant map along Roswell Road looks different this fall than it did a year ago. In August, Rough Draft Atlanta's monthly closures roundup included two Sandy Springs restaurants with long histories. Baraonda closed after 25 years, and Nori Nori closed after 20. Between them, they had served the city for 45 years.
Newer places are filling in up and down the corridor. In street-number order, heading north:
A few changes sit just off the numbered stretch. Taste Wine Bar & Market opened its second location at City Springs, 6405 Bluestone Road, Suite 220, with a grand opening on June 27, as Rough Draft Atlanta reported. That puts a wine bar a short walk from the rink and the Performing Arts Center. In late September, Tomorrow's News Today reported that Rōti Modern Mediterranean is coming to Abernathy Square, at the corner of Abernathy and Roswell roads, between Starbucks and Salon Skanda. No opening date has been given. Rumi's Kitchen reopened on March 6, according to Rough Draft Atlanta. And Sunnyside Pizzeria at 220 Sandy Springs Circle reopened after a renovation in mid-October, per the AJC's October 17 dining roundup.
Taken together, Sandy Springs has lost two restaurants with a combined 45 years of history. A Korean bistro has a signed lease for Baraonda's Roswell Road room, a wine bar is working toward a holiday-season opening, and a Mediterranean concept has a spot at Abernathy Square. Of those three, only the MOA lease comes with a firm commitment, and none has a confirmed opening date.
The rink keeps going into January, but the run of November events wraps up with Sparkle Sandy Springs on Sunday, December 6. The city bills it as its annual holiday celebration, with an award-winning nighttime parade of illuminated floats, marching bands and dancers. The City Springs District fills with oversized inflatables, a food and gift market, and a tree and menorah lighting. The city has not posted the day's schedule yet and notes that details and times may change. Check that page again in the week before the parade.
Sparkle is a useful marker for the pending restaurant news on Roswell Road as well. Under Pressure's hope to open "before the holidays" will either come true or slip in the weeks leading up to the parade. Rōti and MOA have yet to announce their timelines. For now, the confirmed plans are the November 5 Night Market at 8610 Roswell Road, the Saturday market's last morning on November 21, and the rink on City Green, open from November 13 through January 18.
When the restaurant at the end of your street changes hands, it's natural to wonder how your own address compares. If the turnover along Roswell Road has you thinking about what your Sandy Springs home is worth heading into 2027, the Lindsay Levin team can walk you through it with a careful, local read. Request a free home valuation whenever you're ready, whether that's before the parade or after the holidays.
